Businesses need creative thinking to adapt to the complex demands of the increasingly competitive and volatile global economy.
With its rich legacy in critical thinking, Rhode Island School of Design was well positioned to launch an executive education program that gives companies tools to compete in this new normal of disruptive change.
Studio Rainwater worked with RISD to brand the program for its launch and develop strategic outreach materials and a website aimed at executives and business leaders.
We created a brand identity for the program that bridged the divide between the goal-oriented corporate world and the creative energy of design education. The logo takes the visual language of information graphics and deconstructs it through the communications materials to map new ways of thinking and pathways toward future innovation.
The identity is flexible enough to evolve through the program’s initiatives and website, focusing on audiences in a variety of business sectors from finance to manufacturing, so that each piece is consistent with the brand while keeping the design fresh and exciting.
“We were able to pilot a distinct and comprehensive Executive Education program with the help of Studio Rainwater’s collaboration and expertise. They are skilled and experienced practitioners that care deeply about our work, and produce thoughtful, vibrant and compelling work.”
— Lizzi Ross, Associate Director, RISD Executive Education
After a successful launch, the program received significant funding to work with local manufacturing businesses and help them reimagine their opportunities in a global landscape. Over 25 manufacturing leaders participated in the program during its initial year and Fast Company took note, featuring it in the magazine and online in an article on the 50 States of Innovation.
